Autumn

Painting directly onto leaves with acrylic paint is a beautiful way to celebrate the seasons. Comparing your mandalas from different times of the year is a great way to think about colour.

Use a gelli plate (or a laminated sheet) to create amazing prints! You can layer the leaves on first to leave negative space OR you can push the leaves into the ink and remove them to leave brilliant patterns!
The leaves you remove can be amazing works of art in themselves too!

Easter
Origami is a really inexpensive and fun way to create a colourful easter bonnet - there are loads of fab you tube videos that children can watch to support them making a wealth of flowers, butterflies, birds and other spring themed items. We glue gunned ours onto some old caps but a ring of cardboard would do the job just as well.
You can add anything else you like - we blew some eggs and decorated them as well as adding a crocheted animal - that might be a bit ambitious for the whole class though!
